Music is an incredible tool to give to young people. Learning music actually helps you learn other things better (especially in classroom settings!), and it’s a great outlet. It gives you skills (listening, cooperating with others toward a common goal) that are necessary in every aspect of life. It teaches us about our culture, it teaches us about other cultures. I could go on and on and on about the benefits of music education. Musical education is generally EXPENSIVE and not widely available in public schools, especially to at-risk youth. These (from what I can see from the video) are educators who are truly committed to fighting for these kids’ success in life. Help them out by giving this video a quick watch. You’ll get to see young people learning and enjoying themselves.
